Schon beim Auseinanderbauen habe ich den Rost auf den Tauchrohren bemerkt und mich gefragt, inwiefern ich ihn loswerde bzw. ob es sich lohnt, sich schon "neue" zu besorgen. Habe den brauchbaren Chrom mal abgeklebt und versucht möglichst viel Rost mit Stahlwolle und Drahtbürste herunterzubekommen, da die Chromreste am oberen Tauchrohrende sowieso nicht mehr relevant sind.
Das Ergebnis ist nicht das Wahre und ich überlege daher die Tauchrohre vorübergehend zu nutzen und sie daher oberhalb der maximalen Eintauchtiefe zu lackieren, bis ich mir in absehbarer Zeit mal ein paar neue zulege.
I noticed rust on the upper ends of the dip pipes already when I disassembled the bike. After questioning myself how I would get rid of it I used steel wool and wire brush to remove as much as possible from the upper ends, where the chrome had its best time a lifetime ago.
The result didn't make me confident so I am thinking about coating the upper ends just to the maximum dip length. I know this is not a good solution, but I will purchase a 'new' pair of dip pipes in time when the main work is done.

Weiterhin habe ich mich wieder dem Tank gewidmet und mir grob überlegt, wie ich die vorderen Aufnahmen für die Tankgummis am Rahmen verlege, damit er vernünftig auf den Rahmen passt.
Ich habe euch mal bei Paint zusammengekritzelt, was nun ansteht.

Die markierten Buchsen müssen ca. 4-5 cm nach hinten versetzt und zum Tankmittelpunkt um ca 3 cm beidseitig verlängert werden, damit die Aufnahme passt. Ich werde sie also adaptieren müssen, vermutlich aus einem Stahl-Halbrohr, auf das ein Anschlag für die Tankgummis aufgeschweißt wird.
The marked sleeves have to be set back about 4-5 cm and enlarged about 3 cm to the tank's middle axis. Again I will manufacture an adapter out of a half pipe steel profile and place an end stop for the tank rubbers on the frame.
Wie man hier gut erkennen kann, sind die Aufnahmen zu kurz, müssen also wie oben beschrieben Richtung Rahmen verlängert werden.
As visible on the photo, the sleeves are to short and have to be enlarged to the frame.
